Program

We offer programs for children ranging from 8 weeks to 12 years old. If you have any questions about these programs, please feel free to contact us.

Infants

Our infant area provides the highest quality care in an environment that is designed with the parent and child in mind. While in our care, the children are stimulated through music, exercise, outdoor blanket time, facial and verbal mimicking as well as lots of hugs and tickles.

Faith-Based Values

The Christian message of God's grace, love, and forgiveness is the foundation of all learning at Faith Preschool Academy. The Infant program at FPA encourages children to grow in all developmental areas while experiencing God's love. On a daily basis there is a Bible lesson, carried out through music & movement, language development, motor skills activities, creative arts, social/emotional development, sensory exploration, and outdoor play.

Safe, Secure & Nurturing Environment

An infant's capacity to learn is present from birth. Infants learn about their world primarily through social contact- the experiences they have with those who take care of them beginning at birth. Every infant is an individual with a unique temperament and a set of developing skills and abilities. Although the rate and pattern of development vary from child to child, all infants progress through similar stages of development.

Our infant program is sequenced of normal infant development in the areas of motor skills, language and communication, cognition, and socialization. Teachers play with the children, talk to them, respond to them and provide a consistency that makes the child's environment more predictable and comfortable. Experiencing varied textures, foods, shapes, and sounds, as well as going for outdoor strolls help to stimulate your child.

Each infant has their own crib and the linen is changed daily. When the child is not asleep or eating, he/she is free to move about the room, explore and interact with others. The children are held, rocked, talked and sang to, and as appropriate, taught basic concepts of language.

We adhere to daily schedules parents provide for eating, sleeping and other routines as much as possible, keeping in mind that infants will to some extent adjust those schedules based on their own needs. We provide written entries throughout the day, providing detailed information about food consumption, sleep, disposition and activity level and any special experiences or extraordinary achievements they make such as first word or first step.

Toddlers & Two's

At this age, children are meeting new challenges as fast as they come. Crawling, walking and eventually running are levels they accomplish in what seems like a blink of an eye. Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment. Music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicities envelop much of the day. Our caregivers are dedicated in helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship. A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal times, nap times, toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.

Faith-based Values

The Toddler/Two's program at Faith Preschool Academy encourages children to grow in all developmental areas while experiencing God's love. On a daily basis there is a Bible lesson, carried out through music & movement, language development, motor skills activities, creative arts, social/emotional development, sensory exploration, and outdoor play. Most importantly, the teachers at Faith Preschool Academy incorporate Christ's love into their lesson plans and demonstrate His love throughout each and every day.

Safe, Secure, and Nurturing Environment

Children in the Toddler/Two's program are developing communication and academic skills and learning self-help skills, such as table manners, toilet care, and dressing themselves. Social skills such as sharing toys and positive interactions with peers are stressed throughout the day. The positive atmosphere in the toddler/two's room enhances a child's good feelings about him/herself and those around him/her.

For Toddlers, play is their work and learning evolves from it. They will leave the Toddler program having been exposed to such skills as: following simple instructions, identifying animals and their sounds, identifying basic colors, utilizing various types of art materials, building blocks, stringing beads, doing simple puzzles, sitting for stories, singing, and other group activities, understanding that there are numbers and letters and recognizing some of them, beginning to recognize one's own name and understanding concepts of big and little, over and under, in and out, up and down. Learning and interest centers are an active part of the curriculum. Books are read to the children every day. The children have opportunities to work in smaller groups and make specific choices during center time. This time encourages necessary social skills- kindness/sharing taking turns, taking care of classroom property and using it properly, and settling conflict appropriately. The teachers move from area to area to monitor, encourage and assist them when and where needed. Weather permitting; we have two outdoor play periods a day. Our playground is age appropriate and beautiful. As we plan our day, we keep in mind that children need a balance of free and directed play and of play and quiet times. We enjoy what we plan to do with the children and our enjoyment transfers to them.

The Two's class work on introducing learning through potty training . The Transitional Toddler class continues the potty learning process.

In the Preschool age group, children begin to have an increased attention span, activity level, and need to satisfy their curiosity. We create a more structured environment, increase opportunities for exploration, and place an emphasis on cognitive skills.

Curriculum concentrates on faith development, pre-reading, pre-mathematics, science, creative arts and music. Planned activities reinforce the natural learning that is a part of every activity in a child's day. The children select activities from a variety of interest centers that reflect a weekly theme. Learning activities alternate with classroom and outside activities.
Consistency is given through routine, while a variety of activities stimulate all areas of development. Social interaction is encouraged, communication and cognitive skills enhanced, and emotional and spiritual development carefully nurtured.

Safe, Secure, and Nurturing Environment Children

A child's feeling of independence and social interaction with others is what the Pre-Kindergarten room is all about. Our Pre-K program revolves around the children learning to help themselves and getting along with others.
During the course of the day, children are encouraged to make choices for themselves, cooperate with others as well as listen and follow directions. During the course of the program the classroom teachers lead the children in small and large group activities, such as movement, read-a-loud stories, circle time and art activities. The children are encouraged to make friends, share and communicate with their classmates. The children are also prompted to use the bathroom on their own, although assistance is given if necessary. In preparation for the Jr-K classroom, the Pre-K work on their hand writing skills, colors, shapes and numbers. Literacy is introduced with the letter of the week. This also gives each teacher the opportunity to work one-on-one with each student.
